100% mulberry silk is delicate; with proper care it lasts for years. Below are the tips we give customers daily, for your reference after receiving the scarf.
Use cold or room-temperature water (≤30°C) with a little neutral silk/wool detergent; press gently, do not rub or wring. If machine washing, use a laundry bag on the "silk / delicate" cycle, and do not wash with zippers or buttons to avoid snags.
Use only neutral, fluorescent-free silk/wool detergent; no alkaline soap or bleach. Rinse two or three times with clean water; a few drops of white vinegar in the last rinse help restore sheen (a little is enough).
After washing, lay flat on a towel, roll up and press lightly to absorb water; do not wring. Unfold and dry in a cool, ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight — UV makes silk yellow and brittle. Do not blow-dry or use radiator heat.
Iron on the reverse at low temperature (≤150°C) when half-dry, better with a thin cloth in between; if fully dry, spray a little water mist before ironing to avoid shine. A steam iron held 1–2 cm above the fabric also works.
After fully drying, wrap in acid-free tissue or hang on a padded hanger, avoiding direct contact with metal hooks; do not spray mothballs, perfume or deodorizer directly on the scarf. For long-term storage use a breathable cotton/linen bag; avoid sealed plastic.
